How to update KDDI Power Up Unit
Check and download update on KDDI Power Up Unit
Keeping your TV Box up to date is very important for several reasons: for security reasons, since updates include improvements and security fixes; for usability since each update may include improvements to make it easier to use your KDDI Power Up Unit, to improve performance and to include new features.
To update the Android operating system, the first thing you must have is an internet connection. If you have not yet connected your Set-Top-Box to the internet, we recommend this manual .
On the other hand, you will need storage space in your KDDI Power Up Unit to download the update, if when trying to download the update an error appears indicating lack of space, you must delete an application.
It is possible that there is no software update available, either because KDDI has stopped supporting the Power Up Unit or because there is no software update available at the moment, you will be able to check it after a while.
The KDDI Power Up Unit comes from the factory with version 5.1.1 of the Android TV operating system.

1- First step:
To start checking for software updates, downloading and installing on your KDDI Power Up Unit, press the "Start" or "Home" button on the remote control, it is the button with the symbol of a house.
2- Second step:
Using the directional buttons move through the menus on the screen until you reach the settings icon that should appear in the upper right part of the screen of your Power Up Unit.
It is the icon of a gear or cogwheel.
Press to access using the central button on the remote control.
3- Third step:
Once inside the KDDI Power Up Unit settings, go down using the buttons on the remote control to go to the "System" section, it should have the icon of a television.
Click to access.
4- Four step:
Within the "System" section of the Power Up Unit, the first tab that will appear is "About", this section has the icon of an exclamation mark surrounded by a circle.
Click to enter the information section.
5- Fifth step:
When you have accessed the "About" section of the KDDI Power Up Unit you can see all the information related to the TV Box including the version of the operating system and the version of the latest security patch.
To check if you can download a new update, select "System update" and click to access.
6- Sixth step:
The KDDI Power Up Unit will search for a newer update, it may take a few seconds to several minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.
7- Seventh step:
In the event that there is an update available for the KDDI Power Up Unit a button will appear to download and install that new update.
Once the update is finished or if none are available, the text "Your system is up to date" will appear.
You can go back and exit the settings of the KDDI Power Up Unit.
